I had my Paragaurd (copper IUD) removed a few weeks ago.   Saturday, I started my first period after having it removed. By Monday night, my period was over and no bleeding since.   Good God I hated that thing!!!   Yay flags for being back on the patch!

Also, my OB/GYN is pregnant and I think the baby has eaten her brain - - she wrote my BC prescription for 1 month with no refills.   Ummm...  I think that kind of defeats the purpose of BC, especially since they say it doesn't start working until after the 1st month.  But I'm no doctor...

Also, also, I got a bill for the removal of the IUD.   It cost $200 out of pocket for her to take 2 seconds (literally, 2 seconds) to remove it before she started my annual exam.   So frustrating.

I have the Morena and I read online that some women just take it out themselves to avoid the stupid co-pay of having someone else do it. But that freaks me out. Did it hurt coming out?

Andplusalso the visual of the baby eating your OB's brain is making me happy. I'm a creep.

I was shocked at how easy it was for her to remove it but would never dream of doing it myself.   The only thing that hurt was some cramping when she shoved her hand up there, but the actual removal was nothing.   She asked if I wanted to see it.   I said "no, thank you."   I should have asked to keep it for WW secret santa.

Booo @ $200, though.  If insurance didn't cover it at all, call the office and ask for a discount if you pay right away.  For all of my uncovered infertility stuff they always knocked off at least 20% just for asking.

Oh man...removing it myself?  They couldn't even find the dang string/wire...I would have to do some sort of spelunking expedition.

Well, I saw it before they put it in, so I thought that was enough.   I didn't need to see it afterwards with whatever gunk on it.   Blech.

Thanks for the tips about asking for a discount.   I'll ask, but they outsource all their billing, so I'm guessing the answer will be no.   Oh well.

AND THERE WILL BE NO SNEAK BABY.  If it means I have to go a few months without intercourse, so be it.   I'd rather go without sex than have another baby anyway.
