Why is the only other option a foursome of grocery shopping?  From the OP and at least one replier.  I get not being able to do a major grocery trip with 2 little kids in tow, but why not leave them at home with Dad or send Dad to the grocery store?

This also confuses me when I see a few howler monkeys and both parents present. One couldn't stay home with the kids while the other shopped?

Taking kids to a store is not easy, and if they don't behave, it's irritating to the other shoppers.

we really limit the amount of shopping that the 3 of us do together. Wolverine is generally good when we take her out, but it's still a pain in the ass to cart the baby around. One of us will go while the other stays at home with her or we'll stop before we pick her up from daycare.
