Lime fluff

My menu for Christmas day is turkey (would have preferred beef but sFIL can't eat it), pumpkin soup, bacon wrapped green beans, rosemary whipped potatoes and yams, and crescent rolls.

MIL decided it needs a salad...so she's bringing lime fluff.

I'll have cheesecake, cutout cookies, and haystacks for dessert.  She thinks we also need peppermint stick ice cream.  You can't really transport that 2+ hrs so I'll have to add it to my shopping list.

No.  No no no no no.  If she wants something they can swing by the store once they get to your town.  Aren't you working an extra 3 hours a day now?  YOU TOLD HER IF SHE WANTED SOMETHING OTHER THAN WHAT YOU WERE OFFERING, THAT SHE NEEDED TO BRING IT.  If she's bringing lime farts and wants icecream, let her get it.

Nothing will be open Christmas day for her to get it here.  Whatever.  I don't know what makes lime fluff a salad.  I did think a salad would be good.  I was thinking spinach with feta, craisins, mandarin oranges, sugared walnuts, red onion and balsamic vinagrette.  Then I realized they wouldn't eat it and I didn't want to bother.

Lime fluff sounds hideous. As a positive, your name just popped up as Snoangel69. Kinky.

Lime fluff is cottage cheese, cool whip, lime jello mix, pineapple crap.  I won't make it she will.

Nola- sweet green bean bundles.<---click  They are awesome.  I'ma bet she won't eat them because the bacon doesn't get crispy enough.  She actually sent back DH's bacon because SHE did not think it was crispy enough.  (He was not at the table at the time)

There is one gas station open on Christmas day.

I've tried it and it's really bizarre.  I think there is nuts in it too so it's got the oddest textures and over sweet.  She gave me the recipe at my wedding shower because "it's one of DH's favorites."  He's never asked for it and he's never made it.

I had already bought the ice cream for DH so there should still be some left.

i like peppermint stick ice cream - this wouldn't be an issue for me if i was going to the store already, although wouldn't make a special trip for it.

ySIL's MIL makes something similar but i think it has pistachio jello pudding instead of the lime jello and cottage cheese. she makes another one that is lemon flavored.

My DH and his 4 brothers referred to that stuff as martian blood when they were growing up.
