Wedding Woes

2 reasons TX is awesome

1) I am eating a salad for lunch today - made with lettuce from my garden. my garden is thriving when i would only be starting seeds inside in PA. I also have lemon, kumquat, and mandarin trees - none of which would survive a PA winter.

2) we will have the pool open by the end of the week. we could have opened it a few weeks ago (it's been warm enough), but have been too busy. We're going to have a bbq on Friday to celebrate.

it's not really that much worse than Philly - hot and humid. on average maybe 5-6 degrees higher.

I can deal - we moved here in August, and I've been here on business trips through the summer.

TX isn't a dry heat, Kuus.

    Also, "dry heat" is bullshit.

Exactly what I do from May-October. I don't do outside.

How the hell do you find time for this with a Wolverine and working?

I barely have the time to pull a weed :(

I just remember my grad school days in Dallas.  85-90 degrees by 8:00 in the morning and going up from there.  No thank you.  It gets that hot here, too, but it usually cools down at night so you don't get hit in the face with the heat the minute you walk out the door.

And Houston is most definitely NOT a dry heat.  But homegrown lettuce in March is pretty sweet - I'll give you that.

Definitely not a dry heat...unless you are in west tx. I spent the majority of my life in central tx and I really do miss it....in the winter anyways.
