Wedding Woes

okay, mad ranters

come laugh at this with me.  (found elsewhere)

My friend's wedding is costing ME a huge amount of money.  How do I explain this to her?
I have spent $300 on the dress and shoes.  I still am expected to pay for:
- hair and makeup the day of
- transport to the wedding (no car, so it'll be a $100 bus ticket)
- a hotel for myself the night of the wedding
- a wedding gift
- supplies for decorating her bridal suite (my assigned bridesmaid task)
I got a message from her this morning that she wants me to supply nicer sheets for her bridal suite because the ones the hotel provide aren't "pretty enough". If the bed is a king size, which it probably is, I would have to purchase a set because no one I know has king size sheets I could borrow.

The sheets thing is pure madness.  Funny, but insane.

    Ha. Nicer sheets.

Why are these chicks scared to check their friends? This would get a, "Girl, please" in a minute.

It does cost a lot to be in a wedding, and I usually just suck up the cost, but come on with the sheets. I did tell my cousin, "heck no" on the $300 dress she wanted. I helped her, "thank you Knot" to find a cheaper version.

nola, i think this is exactly why people think the forums are mean.

but really, i know i do this irl.  just last night, i chewed out a friend for being a moron.  she just met this new guy, and he's totally into her.  she actually said, "what does he see in me?" and i nearly pushed her onto the tracks.

Bride needs a kick to the head. Actually, the BMs need one for letting her use them as doormats.

Hey, I know I need to get checked too from time to time. That's why you have friends.

Maybe if you knock their heads together they'll both grow up.  If the bride is that butthurt about sheets maybe she needs to book a nicer room.
