okay, for real, i'm supposed to respond to every question?  like, say, a question about who was secretary of war under lincoln?  that merits a response?  i can't just stare like this and walk away?

How hard is it to say, "I don't know." or "why are you asking me"? Seriously? You just don't give any response at all?

I guess you like hearing people repeat exactly what they just said, ONLY LOUDER.

Yes.  You have to reply to every question.  Shrug your shoulder if words are too difficult.  Otherwise, how do I know that you heard me?  Or are you just ignoring me?  Are you conducting a silent protest?  How am I supposed to know!?!?  Then I feel the need to scream enough for both of us...neighbors call the cops...you get the picture.

the question is obviously stupid, so why would ANYONE bother answering? it just embarrasses both of us -- me for being married to you, and you for asking.

sometimes i just want to say "i didn't want to answer because that would mean acknowledging a question that was so insanely stupid, and that would just embarrass you."

I think there is a way to respond that is rude and that no repsonse can be rude in it's own way. If H is asking me some stupid question that I couldn't possibly know that answer to, I said, "Why are you asking me?" If I don't know, I say as much, or shrug my shoulders. After enough glares and sarcastic responses, someone should learn to stop asking the silly questions.

i love him, bless his heart but sometimes i do not want to answer questions about the current location of 3m headquarters and how many people are in the afl/cio (actual questions!!!!).

Sometimes I answer H's questions with laughter and pointing, but it is still an answer like, for example, when I repoted the thing on FB about Mark Zuckerberg eating your brains if you didn't change security settings.  He asked me, "Is this real?"  Then based on my response he tried to save himself with "I know zombies aren't real, but is THIS?"   Oh, DH.

Yes you need to acknowledge the question in some way.  Staring in that way would at least acknowledge you heard the question.  Dh will just go about his business and not answer.  I just need to know he heard.

when i was reading "world war z" (it's about the zombie apocalypse), fil asked me if it was non-fiction.  he tried to recover, but too late.  i swear, if i can have a hand in it at all, "he feared zombies" will be on fil's tombstone.
