What do y'all really think about this "Birther" business? I know we have a mixed bag politically here, I really want to hear your thoughts.

(Yes, i know I'm a few days late. Apparently it was on a morning show of some variety that I don't watch because I can't stand their infernal perkiness. Not at 7 am, not ever.)

I don't know about HI, but I've ordered PA (myself and DK) and TX (Wolverine) birth certificates online - it takes about 2-3 weeks with regular mail and costs something like $11 + shipping. I don't get why he can't furnish a birth certificate with a seal, but honestly have better things to spend $2MM on.

Barbie, tell me about this seal business. I want to know what it is that causing all this doubt.

Because I have my own suspicions about why we have a bunch of people who are unconvinced Obama is American/Christian (and honestly who gives a rip if he's Christian). My suspicions rhyme with assfaceism.

my understanding is that he produced a hospital birth record, but no official state-issued birth certificate (complete with seal)

I thought it had something to do with his mother later renouncing her (and her minor son's) citizenship.  So it wasn't about birth at all but about a later technicality.  I still think he is a citizen, but apparently the birther thing is about doubt about if he has always been one.  (He was, maybe he wasn't, he is again).  I think his mother was not for at least some time. 

That being said, I think he is, and was, but perhaps its not as 100% crazy for people to question if there is something to this renouncing thing.

This is dumb.

He has provided, and the state of HI has provided, over and over again to every request until it started taking so much time from the records clerks that they started charging for it, their official state birth certificate.

BTW, when I requested my birth certificate from OK, it's not a raised seal...it's a stamp of a seal.  I had an offical of MO question it.  WTF, it's what I got dude, request yourself if you have doubt.

The only legal issue that could be raised is that his father could've (who isn't an American citizen and wasn't in US at the time they're questioning his "patriotship") marched in front of someone and said My Son Is No Longer An American Citizen That Was Enjoined To Him By His Mother and Being Born On American Soil. Except UNITED STATES LAW says that the ONLY person who can renouce American citizenship is the actual citizen after the age of 18.  Which he did not do.  So, it's all moot.  All of it.
