2) I am 100% convinced there are cockroaches living in our coffee maker. Like, the part where the machinery is and holds the water, that you can't put in the dishwasher. I just want buy a french press and get over it.

Which article?  I have the attention span of a goldfish today and can't remember what I've posted.

I would use my french press so much more often if it weren't such a hassle to clean. 

Have you had the coffee maker for more than a few weeks?  If it had roaches you would know by now.
