Registry Question

I just looked at my sisters wedding registry. She registered at 3 different stores. Is it normal to register for the big ticket items at all 3 stores? Between the 3 stores, she has 3 Kitchen aid mixers, 3 spice racks, 4 food processors, 2 sets of pots and pans and 2 sets of cutlery. She also has a lot of the smaller things on all.

Only time I've seen that is if they register at a place that isn't around everywhere. Say if they registered at BBB and Kohls and Crate & Barrel, one person only may have the BBB near them, and want the kitchen aid mixer. I hope that when she see's one that is purchased, she takes it off the other registries.I didn't do this only because it would have been too much trouble keeping up with them, and a pain to return double purchased items. IDK if it's right or wrong though...

It seems like she is going to have to take a lot of things back.  Maybe she doesn't know any better?

Honestly, I like it when they do this.  A friend from HS is getting married in Oct, and she registered at Kohl's and BBB.  She only put the big ticket items at BBB.  Problem is, with connections, I am able to get one of the big ticket items for dirt cheap at Kohl's.  Now, I am trying to figure out how to buy it for her at Kohl's, while checking it off her BBB registry, without her finding out.If it were on both, She would see that it had been purchased at one and remove it on the other.  Plus, I know that when I go to a shower or wedding, I check all the registries to see what's on them- hopefully, others do too, and would see that one was purchased at another store.  If not, that's what gift recipts are for.

I did this as well because some people from out of town didn't have Macys nearby, but around here we all do and I wanted the Macys Rewards Points too... So I did wind up with two spice racks, two hand mixers, etc.. But since BBB has such a liberal return policy I am returning all of my duplicates to BBB after the wedding, and keeping the ones from Macys.  I'll just use the return to buy things I didnt get that I wanted, such as a food processor.
