Can anyone recommend a jeweler for wedding bands? My fiancee got my engagement ring in NYC and we won't be able to make it there anytime soon.thx

We used a jeweler in Virginia who does a lot of custom work and who was recommended to us by a friend.  He made my e-ring and we went back to him for the wedding bands.  He even price-matched my FI's wedding band because we found something similar elsewhere for less money.  www.questjewelers.com Our jeweler was Huan Tain.

We went to Halloween at 13th and Pine. They do custom work as well as vintage/vintage molds. They are incredibly well priced and were great to work with. Cash Only though.

Steven Singer on Jeweler's Row.  The service is great and they give you free beer and cookies (always a plus, right?)  I got the band that matched my e-ring, but DH was able to look through about 15+ different trays of rings for himself.  I walk in there every couple of months, take off all of my jewelry and have them clean it while I wait, and check my settings to make sure diamonds are loose.  The day before my wedding they even re-dipped my white gold e-ring to make sure it sparkled next to the new wedding band.

I would second Steven Singer. I haven't gotten my band yet, but I walked in the other day to look and the selection was great. I found exactly what I want (1 1/2 carat eternity band) for about 500 less than other places. The sales guy also said they there is a discount if you purchase both bands there at the same time. We bought my ering from jamesallen.com and couldn't be happier.  Great service--the actual owner got on the phone and help FI pick the best diamond, and they rush shipped to him so he would get it in time for Christmas.  Also no tax in PA or NJ!

I second Steven Singer.  I'm having a band custom made to match my ering, which was also purchased there.  The one they had to match was a single row of pave diamonds and I was looking for a double row.  We also got FI's band there.  We've had a great experience with them, as have many other people we know.

I also recommend Steven Singer.  FI got my engagement ring there, and we also bought both of our bands there.  Plus, as someone else mentioned, you get a discount if you purchase both your band and his band there.
