So I'm on vacation with FI family right now in the outer banks for the first time, and if you've never been here... you should come! it's awesome!Anyway, I just keep thinking about how beautiful it would be for a small beach wedding, and then have the reception at one of the big, beautiful houses right off the beach. So if anyone's still looking for an idea, or tired of planning and thinking about just running off somewhere-- this would be the best place! I wish I had the guts for an outdoor ceremony!

Ah we love OBX!  FI and I got engaged in Nags Head last summer.  Where are you staying?

FI's aunt has a house on the OBX and we do a big family most summers.  It's beautiful!His cousin had a destination wedding there ~10 years ago and the pictures were amazing!  I wasn't there but everyone else had a great time!

I LOVE OBX!  I go every year and going this September.  Last year the house next to ours had a wedding and it was GORGEOUS!  I wanted an OBX wedding as well and make it a week vacation with family and friends however the FI wanted to invite everyone and their Mom so we had to keep it local.  There is actually a company www.obxweddings.com that can help you plan.

Sorry for the post and run! We're in Avon for the week! We're actually thinking of coming back for Christmas this year which I think would be beautiful!
