I am sorry for being a clod here, L.  I guess I just figured that the normal, sane people who were having trouble with getting pregnant would just think "oh, I'm not a whiner - this doesn't apply to me".

It wasn't even about whiney IFers.  Your title was "Infertile people are the biggest bunch of whiners ever."

I know, I know, oversensitive, could apply my own logic, etc...but it is what it says.

Yeah, that was meant to inflame, which is why it was posted over on TIP instead of here.  There's a thing we do there where we post something ridiculously flameworthy every day and enjoy the big ruckus it causes.  That one worked pretty well.  But hell, YOU know that, GBCK.

True, it is just a very touchey subject for many people, some of whom aren't so stable at the moment (I think the girl threatening suicide last night on IF proved that).  It is a public message board and I don't think we should curb our opinions because someone might freak the F out, but generalizing about any topic gets people fired up.

Yeah, I realized it was a stir the pot thing (and if I hadn't gone out last night I would have looked for it on my own just to watch the drama unfold, I had a feeling it would get brought up on the boards after your FB post).  The girl that C&Ped it to IF was an idiot.

but I don't think you get to fan the flames and then say "but you should have known I didn't mean you".  Somehow that doesn't work for me.

I wasn't horribly offended, although I do still stand by what I said here about finding it annoying that anecdote is treated like data much to often to enforce sterotypes.

well, I figured I was exempt because, really, y'all knew I was infertile because I said so...
and that was where it ended more or less.  Until I got PG because the universe is weirdo :-P

I wasn't all up in arms or anything, I just found it a tad distatesteful, I thought there were better grouips to pick on--like, hell, I'll join you in picking on the kid w/ cancer and the (recently deceased, so I'm sure this is cold-hearted) mermaid girl.
