The whole screwing your brother and killing children turns me off.

That was just the first episode.   There hasn't been any more brother/sister action (even though you know it's still going on behind closed doors) and limited murder of children.   In fact, I can only think of one child that was actually killed...
Last night they lopped off a horses head which was a little disturbing, but I don't think the violence is nearly on the level of the Spartacus tv show.

I'm getting ready to give up on Spartacus.  The last season had too much rape.  It seemed every week a woman was being forced to have sex.  I'll see what happens this upcoming season.

I've only seen a few episodes of Spartacus.   Leaving out the excessive violence and blood spilling out everywhere, I think it's just a trashy show.   The actors aren't that great and the film style gets on my nerves.

Game of Thrones has some ah-mazing actors, a high production value and a very good story.   You should give it a chance.

I've heard of it and it doesn't sound like my kind of thing...too much violence.

I'm still watching.  I like Spartacus and GOT.  Although I did have to turn away from some of the violent scenes in Spartacus.

DH is watching, so I usually end up watching at least half of the episode.

Chopping off the horse's head was a turn off to me, and I'm a huge fan of gore.
