Is anyone here not a Philly sports fan?

I'm not a huge sport fan period. I love Pitt, because I went there, but everything else I can take it or leave it. I have been to many Philadelphia sports and have a good time, but I don't really watch on TV very often. Right now FI is watching cricket and it is SUPER boring.

I am not a fan of sports in general, unless you count swimming (I swam competitively until I graduated from college).  One of the reasons I had to marry SO was he was of the first guys I dated who didn't make me watch sports all the time.  :)   He likes to watch football on occassion and is an Eagles fan, but he doesn't watch the games too much unless they get to the playoffs since we are usually working around the house on the weekends.

Oh I do love Olympic sports, I will watch almost anything. I am so excited about the London Olympics!

I'll open myself up for flames!! Football -- I grew up in NE PA-ish area (which is also Eagles territory) but no one in my house watched football.  Then I married a Steeler fan.  I could care less either way, but I have been known to watch a game and sport a Steeler jersey.Baseball -- grew up in a hardcore Yankee family.  My allegiances still lie with the Yanks, but I'm allowed to like the Phillies too, right?  Different divisions?  I have been to Phillies games and I am getting into them because I love baseball.Been to one Flyers game and loved it!  DH is a Penguins fan but I refuse to support another Pittsburgh team!I just moved to Philly 3 years ago, so you'll cut me some slack, right?  =)

:: Shyly raising my hand:: I still don't get american football to be honest. A whole bunch of grown men faliing on top of each other... yeah! I usually start daydreaming about Fi or shoes few seconds after someone start explaining the rules to me. every time! I only watch basketball because some of the players are to damn hot!I went to a baseball game with friends one time and we took our interns/co-ops at work the second time ...and din't get it either.  We are walking around buying hot dogs and drinks and chatting during the whole match. Who does that in a middle of a game? And either time, the game didn't seem to end!Football (Soccer) on the other hand, I will watch any time. But i am kind of bias. My brother plays pro-soccer in Europe and i grew up with soccer i guess... Sorry so long but you asked.

Jewles, I'm with you - FI is a die hard Steelers fan.  He even got me a Polamalu jersey.  Also, I'm from northern NJ, so I've always supported the Yankees, Mets, Nets, Knicks and Jets.  Never been a Giants fan for some reason. I absolutely support Philly teams and love going to Philies games.  I love seeing Brian Westbrook play for the Eagles - I actually first saw him play at 'Nova! My fav sports team is Villanova Men's basketball.  I just love me some Jay Wright.

Confession:  I can't stand New Jersians who are Phillies & Eagles fans.  A New Jersey license plate with a Phillies license plate border thing makes my blood boil. Or a NJ car with a Phillies "P" on it. I know it's wrong to think that and anyone can like any team but it's just so wrong.  Go obsess over the yankees/Giants/etc like everyone else over here does. (I work with waaaay too many crazies over here.  Can you tell?) I never started to feel this way until I started working in NJ 3 years ago.

When i was younger i spent every summer down in Texas and with my Uncle (big Dallas Fan) We went to different events they had and he would always show me sports things about them from there seasons, an then i would go home and come football season i would cheer for Dallas. And the older i got an the more i understood about football i just really liked Dallas and how they played. Even with my family and Fi tring to convert me to an Eagles fan it just didn't work. I would try cheering for them when they did something good (it didn't feel right) and as soon as whatever team they were playing against would do something to mess them up and i would be there hooting and holaring against them.... At least i am a hard core Flyer's Fan! so my FI forgive me for the Dallas thing :)

Born and raised Bostonian here.  I root for the Celtics but I learned about baseball during my college days in NYC, so I root for the Yankees.  For my wedding in Boston, I toyed with the idea of having a groom's cake made in the shape of a Yankees cap, but I think any repectable cakeshop in Boston would have spit venom on it.

Not a fan of basketball, no matter the team.  Also not a huge hockey fan, but if I watch I like the Red Wings. I love the Phillies and part of me is still a Colts fan.  I guess I took a team with me from each state I lived, lol.
