did you number your RSVP cards?

I read somewhere (probably here) that you're supposed to put a small number on the back of each card that corresponds with the guest list b/c sometimes people are stupid and forget to write their name on the RSVP card?Did anyone have this problem?  Did you number your cards just in case?

Yes and it did come in handy!

I did not number ours and we did get a couple back with no names. Luckily I could identify who they were by the postmark.

Blah I was really hoping the answer to this was no, it's a waste of time, lol.  I am truly sick of invitations right now.  DIY is killing me.  We have a ton of people from the area invited though so postmarks wouldn't be an option if someone didn't include their name.  Guess I'm going with the numbers.  Thanks as always!

I numbered mine and it turns out it wasn't neccessary. However its not like it took a ton of time.

I did this and had 2 people send in a BLANK card!  It definitely helped.  One person who sent in a blank card is a MOB for an upcoming wedding- I was shocked!

My invites went out on Saturday and I did not do this.  Now this post is making me worry :/

We did this, too.  It wasn't necessary for us, but I'm convinced that was because of Murphy's law - nothing could go wrong there, so nothing did ;)I will fully admit that I made Colin number them, though!

I didn't do this and didn't have any problems.

I did it.  It took about 5 mins and coordinated with the numbers on my spread sheet.

I did this but didn't need to. However, I put a small number on the inside of the return envelope because I've heard stories before of people wanting to know what the numbers on the cards were and why they were # 152 (am I not important?!?!!!).  I numbered the inside of the envelopes and no one even noticed it.

I did this in light pencil on the back.  I only needed it once because two invites went out to people with the same last name and they didn't write their first names on the RSVP, so I didn't know which was which.I've also heard that you can write the numbers in invisible ink and then use a black light, if you don't want anyone to be able to see it.

I plan on doing this, my cousin did. The numer corresponded with the potential chair/table on the seating chart. I say it comes VERY much in handy.

I started at #600, so that VIPs wouldn't get discouraged at their #.

I meant to do this and forgot but luckily had no problems.  Everyone filled in their name.  Good luck!
