Painting the inside of an Eiffel tower vase

Hi , I searched the topics and didn't see one that covered this.

I am doing our centerpieces with red ostrich feathers in tall eiffel tower vases. I would love to find red vases but I have searched everywhere with no luck.

My questions are: does anyone know where to find 24 inch red eiffel tower vases or has anyone successfully painted the insides of these vases or any glass vase?

I have tried numerous kinds of paints and nothing seems to want to stick. I need them to be translucent- because I want to light them with floralytes.

Any input would help.

Thanks in advance

Renee

Re: Painting the inside of an Eiffel tower vase

  • It seems that I'm about three years late on this one....but just in case others are looking for the same thing...

What I did was buy some clear Eiffel Tower vases and inserted some red organza. Got a 6" roll and cut to length (about 48" lengths because I folded them in half prior to inserting). You will need a nice long stick or dowel to get the organza to the bottom ;-)
  • Oh yeah...and if you plan to insert lights, I would do this at the same time to avoid bunching up the organza later.
