I'm toying with the idea of a sweetheart table for FI and myself with two tables for the wedding party and their SO's close to us. The caterer is providing white linens and white napkins for free, but I bought some dark brown table runners to add a bit of color to each table (the wedding colors are dark brown and pink). Each center piece will have brown birch sticks and pink flowers (stargazer lilies and snap dragons).
If we do a sweetheart table, would it look odd if our table had a brown tablecloth and a pink table runner? Or would it be better if we did a pink (read: watermelon) tablecloth and the same dark brown table runners? Or maybe I use the white linens and just get colored overlays? Or should I just forget this idea and decorate the table like the others? I'm not planning on buying another center piece for this table - I'm just going to use my bouquet to save $$.
