Do I sit the MC at the headtable?

So this may be a dumb question but does our MC sit at the head table? We have decided to ask my FI's cousin to be our MC at the wedding and he said he would be honored to and it would be our gift to him. But now I'm not sure if that means I'm supposed to add him to our head table, or even our wedding party. We already picked out our wedding party so I'm not sure if we now need to add another?

Re: Do I sit the MC at the headtable?

  • I think it's really your call. I would imagine that he'd need to be near the microphone and speaker system, right?I would seat him and your wedding party with their dates. Either at a big head table that can fit everyone, or elsewhere around the room (you and FI can sit with your parents, or with your siblings and their dates, or with Best Man and MOH and their dates, or solo at a sweetheart table). I would not split up anyone from their date. No, if you add someone to the wedding party, you do not need to pick another person to even things out. You should pick people based on who's closest to you, not to keep the sides even.

  • Okay, so is he considered part of the wedding party now? On one side I think yes because he should sit at the head table, but on the other side, hes supposed to be introducing the wedding party. Right?
