XP: Those already married...cake?

Do you remember what your cake was placed on?We had an acquaintance make my daughter's cake, who had been making/decorating cakes since she was a little girl. The cake was placed on a piece of plywood covered with aluminum foil. Which we had to pay a $30 deposit in order that she would get it back. The he!!...?

Re: XP: Those already married...cake?

  • mine was on a cake stand on a table. plywood iwth foil? WTH is right?! like you're gonna run off with her plywood.....

  • Our cake was on a silver cake stand. We got married at a resort and got our cake through the resort so we didn't have to pay anything extra to use the cake stand.
  • ::runs to look at snapshots from the wedding::  looks like a platter of some kind with little "feet" to lift it an inch off the table.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
  • Ours was on a large white ceramic cake stand
  • Try going to a flooring/countertop store... They have squares that are used as samples of marble and other materials. Even if they aren't having a sample sale they usually will sell you one of them if you ask. My mom did this for a reception that she was planning and it looked amazing.
  • We had cupcakes and borrowed our neighbours dessert stand. We didn't have to pay a deposit, and ours was ceramic. I think your acquaintance is a little bit off...
  • We used cake stands that the venue already had.  Pics in bio.
