How many guests per (round) table?

We are expecting around 52 or so (including ourselves), and don't want to have everyone crammed together at their tables, so we decided on 10 seats with 6 tables. The 9x6=54 still seemed scrunched, but 60 seems almost too roomy. I'm thinking this won't may make the awkward guest end up with a family table, too. Thoughts?

Re: How many guests per (round) table?

  • It depends on the size of your tables.  The 60 inch round table comfortably seats 8 people, so you could do 6 people and it would feel roomy.  If you want to put 10 people to a table, you'll need the 72 inch tables.  Talk to the venue or whoever you are renting the tables from to find out what's available to yu.

  • It depends on the size of the table. The average table can fit 8 comfortably and 10 will be cramped. Larger tables will fit 10 comfortably. If you have open seating, you have no choice but to have extra tables.
  • The 72 is what they offer there, I just didn't want every single seat to be occupied. I figured the guests would like some wiggle room. More chairs = more options. Also, we are having open seating, so the 10 per 6 tables versus 9 per 6 seems better for choice. I'm actually going to try to predict the seating arrangment and make sure no table gets stuck with only 2 or so guests. If that happens, I'll mosey over that way and make them feel more comfortable.
  • 60 inch seats 8 72 inch seats 10.
  • 10 for a 60" table is too tight, try 8
