Centerpiece Question

We are having our wedding ceremony start at around 2 or 3 in the afternoon and I was wondering if it would be ok to have candles for centerpieces? I didn't know if people would wonder why we had candles like that early in the afternoon. I know that you should do whatever you like for your wedding, but I still wanted to get some opinions! The picture below is what I was going to do. The glass in the bottom will be a different color though. Let me know what you guys think! :)

Re: Centerpiece Question

  • By 4 in November, at least where I live, it's starting to get dark, so totally makes sense to me. I'm assuming your ceremony is an hour-ish and then on to the reception where the candles will be?
  • I think that it is fine regardless of the time of day
  • That is true, I didn't even think about that until you mentioned it. It will probably be dark! Thanks for the advice though! :) I just hope I can find floating candles that last awhile so someone isn't running around re-lighting them lol
  • The only real question is whether the lighting inside the venue will be subdued enough so the candles can be seen.  If it is, you're fine.
  • I would definitely do Candles! I am getting married in Oct and am doing mostly flowers, but I am also doing some candles because I sell Partylite! They are very safe candles!! My wedding is at 3 in the afternoon on Oct 4th, and I think candles bring a very romantic feel to the wedding. It also depends on if there are lots of windows or not, which could brin in the sunlight. If it is a darker reception hall Then the candles would help alot! I say candles are always a good thing!

  • I would use simple pillar candles or two taper candles in candlesticks.  Classic
  • I think that small amout of candle light will be fine. It's very elegant and simple. Would you put it on top of a mirror?our reception starts at 1:30...and the whole thing is candle light. Yea, we will have the overhead lighting, but the centerpieces are all candles (PIB) as well as a few candle stands. Its autumn, though, so i'm hoping guests will think of it more as a cozy room then a WTF is with the candles while ithe sun is shining outside? (there aren't any windows, just two doors).Or, it'll rain and storm and we will loose electricty, therefore the candles will be the best idea ever.
