Pick your favor???

I am thinking about doing a few different favors so people can choose.  I would like to do something like over-sized lollipops for kids and kids at heart, cigars and maybe Jone's soda or olive oil.  I was wondering how this could be set up so that people realize they are favors but also so there isn't a free for all where people take as much as they want.  I definitely think a sign requesting people take one favor would be tacky or is this just tacky in general?

I like the idea of people choosing something they would like! I was thinking of something similiar, although I am undecided about whether or not it would work with my guests. I'm not sure about the sign. It could be cute if you wrote a little poem or something that lets people know they can take one.

I think this is a cute idea, but what if more people than expected want cigars or olive oil, and great uncle jim is left with a lollipop? As long as you had much more of each item than you need it should be fine. You could set it up kind of like a market with baskets with different favours in them.. each basket could have a little sign on it. You could put up a cute sign saying something creative letting them know to pick the favor that they want the most or something. I'm not creative or I would suggest wording.
