Hiring Servers - HELP

Hello Ladies, Has anybody hired servers for your reception? if so, what company? I am finding that the servers mostly come with a catering package included...wondering if I would be able to just hire servers...??? My father-in-law is wanting to cook for the wedding but I do not want him to be anywhere near the kitchen the day of the wedding. So, i thought it would be good if we can hire a staff of servers and they can deal with the food on the wedding day... Any ideas? suggestions? please help TIA!!!

    While you definitely need to post this on your local board, does your local community college have a hotel/restaurant hospitality program?  You might be able to hire some of the students to be your servers.

    We are having waitresses from one of the local resturants that we go to serve at our wedding.  They were very happy to do it and it will be much cheaper!

    We don't have a culinary institute in town, but we do have a vocational school.  A group of seniors in the culinary class is coming to serve dinner as well as maintain the chocolate fountain and finger foods throughout the night.  We have five of them coming and all they asked was for minimum wage.  Much cheaper than other options we explored.
