Colored Tulle Question

The whole ceiling swoops with the white tulle/christmas lights is a very popular idea, but has anyone seen this done with colored tulle?

Re: Colored Tulle Question

  • We did it for our formal theme dances at my college with great success.  Though I'm thinking we used more of a gossamer material than tulle, but tulle would work just as well.  Test your lights behind it though, because sometimes light can change the colors.  We did a winter dance with a red and green holly theme and used red gossamer/tulle accents...which unfortunately glowed a demonic orange with the lights being so close to it.

  • I am actually doing this!  When I met with my wedding coordinator at our reception hall, she gave me the name of someone who does it in my area.  If you can't find anyone who provides it, just ask who is in charge at your reception hall how much colored tulle you would need and buy the boldts of it at a fabric store.  I was about to do that myself until my coordinator found someone for me!  My hope is that it will look a bit more romantic and different :)
