Candy Bar Questions

For a wedding that should be about 215 people - how much candy do you suggest? Just trying to figure out if we want to have 5 different kinds of candy - how much of each? any help is great! Also, im just looking for plain clear bags and will print a monogram sticker to seal it. Any suggestions where to get the bags Thanks!

Re: Candy Bar Questions

  • with that many people coming, i would plan on having more than 5 different kinds of candy.  Buy smaller amounts of different kinds.  I have heard to buy anything from 1/4 to 1/2 pound per guest. We have 175 guests and we bought 250 pounds.

  • Estimate 1/2 pound per person
  • We had about 10 types of candy - folks seemed to appreciate the diversity. We bought 1/2 lb. per person and had lots of left over candy - I think you should am closer to 1/4 lb. I
  • About how much was the cost for all the candy for everyone?

  • I plan to get around 1/4 lb pp because I don't want a ton left over.  You can also just take the size of your container and times it pp to get your amount that way.Candy online runs anywhere from $5-10+ per lb. plus shipping depending on the candy, the website, etc.
  • Can I ask where you got your monogram stickers from?  I'm hoping to do this as well but haven't had much luck finding something not too expensive.  Thanks!
  • We haven't bought our candy yet (still 9 mo to go) but we got our bags from Michaels! They were 40-50 a pack and they were about $3 a pack so you'd spend about 5 packs! They are in with the candy making stuff! GL!

  • I paid like $22 for 140 custom stickers from Etsy seller BBDesigns.
  • stephaniehall- what size stickers did you get from bbdesgins? I got the same 1/2 pint boxes from papersmart and have been trying to figure out how to decorate them! TIA!
  • I got 2" circles.  I didn't attach them to cardstock though--they would need to be smaller if you wanted to layer them.  She has square ones too now with rounded corners.
  • The Container Store has a few great options for the candy.  Take out boxes in every size, clear/white striped bags and small bags like you would put coffee in.  I liked those because they were tall and would fit all of the candy we are doing. . .you can decorate them with a stamp or lables.  I also punched holes in mine and ran a decorative ribbom through it with little silver charms that had "thank you" and "to have and to hold" on them.
