Drink Buffet?

I know I've seen some other knotties do this, I've seen pictures. Although I cannot remember for the life of me what they served. What would you serve for a drink buffet, during July. We want non alcoholic and alcoholic choices. We will be having heavy cocktails and heavy heavy deserts(oh the wonders of having a professional baker as an aunt who was also trained by french pastry chefs).

Re: Drink Buffet?

  • Where I'm from they call it a bar.  You go up to a guy standing behind a counter and tell him what you want to drink.  Then he makes it for you and hands it to you.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
  • Nope, that would be a bar. Not a drinks buffet. These images are not my own, they are at the courtesy of other Knotties. I do not have credit for these images as I never intended to re-post them only save them for my own personal ideas. Feel free to comment if they are your photos and I will gladly credit you. A bar is where you request a drink from the lady or gentlemen tending the bar. They make your drink and serve it to you. A drinks buffet is where a variety of drinks are already made up, the glasses are provided, and you serve yourself hence buffet. Glad I could clear this confusion up for you.
  • Oops did not mean to post that last one twice.
  • I always vote for Sangria. Lots and lots of Sangria. Red Sangria. White Sangria. Color never matters, especially for sangria! Plus, they always look pretty with the fruit swimming in them. (White can always be made green with melon liquor, or pink with grenadine) Raspberry Lemonade (NA or with Raspberry vodka). Or, I've seen a recipe for Lavender Lemonade (?Martha Stewart) that sounded awesome/unique. Cucumber Gin and Tonics. (Either with cucumber Gin or just normal cucumbers). For the non-fruity drink people... ?the vegetable drink people? Not sure if the tonic would go flat? Greyhounds: Grapefruit Juice and Vodka Amaretto Sours/Whisky Sours/Bourbon Sours Ice Tea flavored Liquor (Firefly or Jeremiah Weed) with Lemonade Regular/Flavored Ice Tea mixed with Lemonade (NA) For other N/As... I prefer a combo of juices rather than just one (aka Cranberry with Orange, Cranberry with Grapefruit, even the V8 fruit juices are good) Not sure how all the sweet drinks will mix with sweet food (some of us have salt-tooths, instead of sweet-tooths).. but I can never think of non-sweet "mix" drinks. Good luck... sounds fun! And the pictures look beautiful!
