Halloween themed wedding help

Re: Halloween themed wedding help

  • a masquerade ball! that's what i wanted if we got married on halloween, but we went with new year's eve instead. do lots of black candles in ornate candelabras with black velvet drapery everywhere. it will be very gothic but romantic. hand out masks as favors. if the wedding isn't until next year you could buy these on clearance after halloween this year to save money.

  • Check out the Gothic Weddings board. Lots of Halloween weddings going on over there.
  • Depends on how far you want to take it.  You can have a casket be the cooler for drinks, candy corn, jack-o-lanters for centerpieces and to light the aisle if needed.  Popcorn balls, bubbling brew to drink, little spider rings.  You really can have fun with this.  With the holiday come up soon food ideas shouldn't be hard.  Cider and spiced waffers, brains and fingers, worms in dirt.  I'm not sure if you want a Gothic type, fun and America Halloween, spooky and quirky, religious All Hallows Eve or old Samhain.  Just think of what it means to you and why you want it connected to your wedding and go from there.
  • Is it elegant Halloween?  Blood and guts Halloween?  Kitchy halloween?  Lots of different directions to go.We are not doing "halloween-theme"for our halloween wedding.  No costumes.  Blue dresses, fall color flowers (red, yellows, oranges)  But.... we do have some shout outs to Halloween1) Favors: boxes with candy, and a pair of vampire teeth.2) Photobooth: Plus box of hats/glasses/accessories for funny pictures.3) Centerpieces: Candelabras4) Hotel gift bags: plastic pumpkin trick or treat pails with Decide how far out there you want to go...  for me, it was important to be able to recognize guests in wedding pictures 20 years from now, and not to go too crazy (grandparents would flip about us not taking it seriously).  I still wanted to be the "bride"and have a normal wedding.  But..... how fun it would be to go all out!
  • Before I decided on NYE, I wanted Halloween, just because it has so many possibilities and could be tons of fun! I had been thinking of using black as the major color with purple and lime green accents, and hints of orange. There are lots of fun things you can do with "Corpse Bride" decorations, cake toppers, etc, as well. The cake I had drawn out had skeletons sitting on top and said "til death do us part" in scroll work around the side. Black and silver colors would have a very elegant feel, while keeping that Halloween mood.Candied apples as favors... jack-o-lantern centerpieces... definitely costume-optional! Now that I'm writing about it, I want to change my mind again!Have fun! And post lots of pics!
  • Costume optional would look nice but be ready to tell those whom aren't in a costume how to dress.  Some people aren't so sure about the formality and may over dress and not have as much fun.  Happened at my SIL wedding.  As for the kids trick or treating that might be a little much.  Picture talking to someone you haven't seen in a long time and a little child poping in the middle saying give me more sugar and you've run out.  Maybe a side area for apple bobbing or arts and crafts (no painting) for the kids to head to.
  • Totally Google Halloween wedding there is so much stuff.
