Brunch Reception

Hi all, My fiance and I need some advice.  We are going to be doing a brunch reception for our June wedding.  The ceremony will probably be around 10:30 or 11 with the reception to follow immediately.  We are thinking maybe 3 hours for the reception and then, since we are having it in an awesome state park, we will invite everyone who would like to join us for a barbecue by the lake (after changing into play clothes) complete with hot dogs, hamburgers, etc and games like softball, kickball, law games, etc.  My question is do you all think that we need dancing/a DJ?  We keep on going back and forth on this and can't decide?  Thanks

Re: Brunch Reception

  • I think that music even if ipod music sets a more festive air to an event. I recomend it. Make sure you provide someplace for the geusts and teh notice for the guests to be able to change into play clothes too
  • My niece had tented reception on the grounds of an historic transportation museum. They did what you did. We all changed into comfy clothes after the ceremony and they had barbecue. She did have a dance floor and dj and everyone had a ball and the dance floor was mostly full for the majority of the party.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
