Sparklers

For those who did sparklers, what size did you use and how long was the burn time.  We are trying to decide between 10 inch and 20 inch and how long it took the guests to get assembled and light the sparklers.  Was it easy to get the guests in lines?  And one last question, was it night or day when you did the sparklers?  Thanks

Re: Sparklers

  • I didn't do them, but I have heard brides say they were glad they went with the 20-inch ones as it took longer than they thought to light all of them.
  • Ours were longer, I think 24 inch. They burned for long enough, but I couldn't really say how long. Maybe a couple of minutes? Our DOC handled getting everyone lined up. It was more difficult at the end of the night after everyone had been drinking, but I think she got everyone in line in about 5 minutes and the GM got everyone lit pretty quickly. We did it at night. PIB.
  • I really want sparklers for my reception. Where could i find some? online or at a store.
  • I think ours were 24 inch...I think. The burn time was about 3 minutes, it worked out perfectly, the sparklers started going out as we were waving goodbye and driving away :). We bought a lighter (like a cigarette lighter) for each person in our wedding party (we had 12 attendants altogether) and had them spread out down the tunnel to light everyone's at the same time. It was absolutely perfect!

  • Oh, it was nightime and our DOC stood outside the reception doors, handed everyone a sparkler, and told them to form a tunnel once they got outside. We have a few great pictures in our married bio under "reception"!

  • We used 24 inch. (The 36 inch were just scary) I tied a few together with ribbon and a regular size sparkler and matches. The regular ones are easier to light, so that was used to get started and then people could light off each others. I think there is a photo in my bio of how I displayed them and the sign I made on Vistaprint. sparklersonline.com has some great ideas and photos. It wasn't too bad getting people to line up. I did have one aunt who had a few drinks light hers inside, but we got her out quickly. :) We had buckets of sand outside for people to put them in after.
  • Hi yuseline08... I'm not sure when your wedding date is, but I heard if you buy the sparklers right after 4th of July you can get a good price.
