DJ Pricing/Recommendations

I have spoken with a couple DJs and wanted to get a sense of what other people are spending/what's a fair price. I am being quoted 2200 for 7 hours (ceremony, cocktail hour and reception). I like the guy I met with, but I wanted to know how that stacks up to other prices. Please help!

I'm using a club DJ and I'm paying $350.00 for 5 hours.

Wow! That's really expensive. I'm only paying $650 for 5 hours.

This is a VERY regional question.  You'd do better to ask this on a local DC area board, because what you'll pay in the metro DC area is very different than what someone in Kansas will pay.  This is an international board-use your local for a specific like this.

Your local board will have recommendations for affordable DJs in your area. This is a national board and most DJs are only local.

I'm sorry tholzman82, I noticed you are in DC not WA State, you will have to continue your search! I would just ask friends, maybe scout out local clubs etc?!! Good luck

I think like that seems like a lot of money just for a DJ. I would recommended looking on weddingwire.com and see what you can find. I have also actually looked on Craigslist for things like that, i have found some great deals!

MLC:  I'd venture to say that EVERYTHING costs more in the DC area than it does in Kansas.  My DD lives and works in DC and the cost of living is pretty outrageous.
