Table THEMES instead of numbers?

I'm trying to come up with ideas for our table numbers. I'd even like a DIY project if it was doable! We're having 18 tables (19 if you count ours). Our colors are navy/fuschia. I have NO idea what to do other than frame numbers in our colors. Are any of you doing anything creative that you'd like to share?THANKS!

Re: Table THEMES instead of numbers?

• Table names are usually something very personal to the couple. Places they've been, their pets, names of their favorite books, favorite movies, favorite foods, favorite songs... It's pretty much limitless.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
• anyone have any pictures of what they've done?
• We are using pictures of our cats posed with numbers:

• We are naming the tables after the islands and cities we'll be visiting on our honeymoon cruise. I've designed a paisley pattern for my ceremony programs and menus. The programs and menus will be printed on fuschia and purple cardstock with metallic gold ink. I'm sorry I haven't finished designing the table names yet. On the menu I've watermarked a large paisley design and I inted to do something similar for the table names. I don't know how to post it here but I can email it to you.
• We had a garden "theme" since we were married in a gazebo. Our table names were flowers that represented love and friendship.

• Brie2010 that is too cute! Were using wine bottles with the different wine varietals as table names. They have an example on theknot under table names. Maybe I can pose our cats next to different wine bottles ;)

• Im having a fall themed wedding so all our tables are names of things we love about fall and a pic of it. EX: Apple Orchard table will have a picture of Jim and I at the Apple orchard we go every fall Pumpkin pie will have a picture of a pie. etc.
• One thing to keep in mind - make it easy for your guests to find their tables. If you have a very large wedding and I am sitting at the Paris table I don't want to wander around aimlessly looking for it. If I am at table 21, that's easy. If I am at the Paris table and you have 25 tables, it would be a good idea to have a layout by the seating chart. And yes, brides will come here and say they had no problems with that, but guests don't tell the couple negative things. I've been to two weddings that were very large and had table names and no layout available. A lot of us were wandering aimlessly. It's a great idea. Just make it work for your guests also.
• kmm makes a good pointwe only had 10 tables (+2 reserved) in a tiny venue so it wasn't difficult to find the tables w/o numbers

• Some people still number the tables 1 thru 18, and then have a pic of you and fi at the corresponding age. Eg- table 3 a pic of you at age 3, and a pic of fi at age 3http://www.weddingannouncer.com/pictures/1141/customtext/29566/full-size/table-2.jpg
• Yeah good point about making it easy for guests. We're having a small wedding with only 8 tables and the reception space is intimate so it won't be had to find Table Cabernet. So incorporating table numbers into your theme is a great idea.
