Centerpiece help!!

Ok Ladies, I need some help. I just found out that my venue doesn't allow candles and I've already purchased the centerpieces that include 5 small votives and a hurricane with a candle per table. AND I really can't get my head around not having a unity candle. ARGH. Ideas?

Re: Centerpiece help!!

  • If they don't allow candles and it is in the contract there probably isn't much you'll be able to do about it.I would start designing new centerpieces and look into maybe returning the stuff you've already bought. And, there are other options available for the unity candle.  Maybe flameless?  Perhaps sand? All is not lost.
  • Use LED/flameless votives for the centerpieces... if it looks cheesy with clear glass, they make a spray paint for glass that makes it frosted, that will hide the obvious fakeness. Unity candle you might be SOL... but there are lots of substitute unity candle-type ceremonies you can do instead.
  • battery operated candles and sand instead of unity candle, plus you can keep the sand.
  • Thanks for the ideas! I would have never thought about the LED lights...
