Sodas and bottled water for reception

In addition to wine and champagne being served during the cocktail hour and dinner, we will be serving soft drinks and bottled water. To save money, we will be buying the drinks and taking them to the venue versus the caterer supplying themFor 100 guests, does anybody have any idea of how many soft drinks or waters we should purchase?TIA!

I would go heavy on the water. I'd think 300 waters, then split sodas: 75 coke, 75 diet, 100 random mixed root beer, sprite, mt. dew, caff free something, whatever random uncle so and so likes. If you are having dancing, people will suck up the water like crazy, especially if the tap water is yucky. I would drink the wine, but I'd probably drink 2-3 waters over a few hours, especially if I"m dancing. I think get plenty of these, because you can always bring the extras home and drink or serve them to guests forever, and at Sam's or Cosco, you can get them in bulk for really cheap. Bottled water can also be donated.
