Inexpensive Centerpiece Ideas

So, our wedding is February 13, 2010. Our colors are red, black, and white. I have no problem making the centerpieces myself, but I really need some good ideas. I've looked on Michael's and can't find anything. I'd like something simple, yet, elegant. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

We are opting for multiple candles surrounded by petals.  They aren't expensive to do (especially if you search around for deals) and they can be very pretty (imo).  It would probably look really nice with your colors with black tablecloths, white candles in clear vases/jars, and then red rose petals.  I have a few pics in my bio that kind of give examples. I know some brides are diy'ing real flower centerpieces, but I think you have to be a certain kind of crafty to do that Good Luck!

I used fruit!  This was very inexpensive, as I bought it all in bulk and then you can use flowers from costco if you'd like or even use all fruit in place of flowers.I think this is an easy, inexpensive way to do something unique and that stands out.  Good luck!Here is a picture and an article explaining step-by-step how to do this.How to Make Centerpieces using Lime Slices

Are they round tables or squares?If you're doing squares, I would suggest getting a long, low rectangular vase, fill it with black sand/pebbles and put red votives or tealights in it.  It will look really clean and modern.  If you're doing rounds, I would maybe do 3 or 5 cylinder vases of varying heights filled with red water and topped with a white floating candle.  I would maybe do a white menu card with your monogram in red and a black border (menu in black type too).  Maybe check out some celebrity weddings for inspiration and then try to duplicate the feel.  Good luck!

depending on your personal style, and the number of tables you need to dress, you might want to scour a fewvintage/thrift stores and see what interesting vases you can find. they will probably be pretty reasonably priced, and each table will have its own character.

I'm a florist, and I just got married a month ago...they cheapest thing I offer clients is rose bud bowls. You can find them very cheap...get yourself a huge orchid and just place it inside.   Usually a branch of gorgeous orchids is about $25-$35 with 12 flowers attached to it...delicately cut them out and place with little water in your rose bud bowl... You can easily get each table centerpiece to be about $5 each! Hope this helps!

My wedding colors are pink and red with black and white damask so some of my ideas might work for you. I love the branch centerpieces you see now days you could look on google and get a ton of ideas for how you like the branch to look or I saw someone that had a tall think vase with a black ribbon around the top  filled with water and 1 small white floating candle and a white feather boa wrapped around the bottom and it looked really night I think it might be in my bio..

I made centerpieces using glass vases (different sizes)...wrapped lace around them...and used votive candles. If you want more of a visual...check out this site. It's only an example.
