Reception Curtains

I love the venue I have chosen, but the curtains are a reddish color and my colors are Royal Purple and Silver... AHH! lol I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about covering them?? We can't take them down but I'm hoping there is a way to hide them somehow. Thanks!!

Re: Reception Curtains

  • Seriously?  No one cares.  You don't have to completely revamp your venue just because the colors they use aren't identical to the colors you've chosen.I'll bet if you asked every single one of your guests the next morning, you'd be hard pressed to find even one who remembered what color the curtains were.  Hell, you'd probably have a hard time finding people who remembered that your colors were purple and silver.Let.  It.  Go.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • No one will notice.  The carpet and drapes of your venue don't have to match your wedding colors.  Your colors will come in through your table decor and centerpieces, flowers, and dresses, and cake.  Just leave the curtains.

  • You're overthinking this.  NO ONE, not one single guest, expects every single thing in your wedding to match your color scheme.Quickly, thing back on the last 6 weddings you attended:  what was the color of the carpet and the drapes?  Can't remember.  That's because it.  doesn't. matter.I can't tell you the color of the drapes at my own kids' weddings!Let this one go.  It's not even worth thinking about.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
  • **think back**

  • There's no need to do anything to the venue curtains. Not all the colors within sight need to "match" your wedding colors. As long as they don't clash, you're fine. Actually, I think the deep red will make a very nice backdrop, and blend very well with royal purple. A little contrast is always nicer and more natural looking than everything being "matchy".
  • Please tell me the color of the curtains at the last five weddings you attended? No?  Trust me, no one cares.
  • If you get purple uplighting, it will drown out the red.
