Lime Centerpiece

I was thinking of doing limes in a tall vase as my centerpiece, just wondering if anyone has done this or seen it done and how it turned out? Thanks!

Re: Lime Centerpiece

• I've never seen it at a wedding but I did a lime/lemon centerpiece on my own kitchen table in a triffle bowl for my "summer" centerpiece: I think it looks great! Definitely a unique alternative to flowers (probably cheaper too!) Go for it!
• I'm doing it too!! I love it! I didn't want crazy flower arrangements that nobody will want as my centerpieces. I haven't actually tried it yet, but i in my head it's really cute :) I'm doing the limes then small candles and then orange and pink (those are my other 2 colors other than lime green) rose petals on the tables.I google imaged lime centerpieces and saw some cute ideas :)Good luck to you!!!
• It looks really nice when the limes are cut open and placed inside the vase so you get that pinwheel effect!

• I am doing limes in my centerpeices also, but am doing like the above said and cutting them to get the pin wheel effect. I am also putting water in the vases after i put the limes in and floating raspberries on top with a floating candle. I think it looks amazing and is a perfect way to substitute flowers!
• I am actually doing lemons!! I am making it interesting by having whole lemons in large bowls, putting black rock on top of some sporadic, whole lemons, filling the bowls 1/2 way + with that mix and adding water 3/4+ of the way to the top, then having floating candels in them. My reception will be mostly candlelight, so it should have a great affect (hopefully!!).. Let me know what you decide and or how it turns out!
• Everyones ideas sound really great-I love the way it looks too, and definitely less expensive then doing flowers for all the tables,Thanks for your replies!!
• I like when people do limes cut up in their vases... here is a wedding I was at that had that done...
• I'm using limes as well, i am using a small square vase filled with sliced limes. I put oasis (green sponge) in the middle and my flowers are gerber daisies with montrous (sp?) leaves (really big leaves) on either side to cover the oasis . I did the slicing of the limes and my florist did the rest and it looked awesome ! Goodluck. ps...after the limes started to go bad, I threw them out and replaced the vase with water and the flowers since they outlasted the limes.
