Hi everyone!
Originally FI's mom and dad had said they would pay for the favors because they wanted us to a have a traditional favor- little bells with our names on them (I didn't love the idea, but she was going to pay for them so I was like whatever..) In any case, now they cannot pay for them due to their financial situation and I would skip them all together, except I think they would be really disappointed if we didn't give our guests something. I am not buying little bells with our names and even if I wanted to, the cheapest ones I've seen go for $2 a pop at least.
My FI and I love Ferrero Rocher chocolates and it's kind of a tradition that he gets them for me for Valentines or some other occasion. So my question is, would that be a good favor though? 1 or 2 of those at each place setting? My other concern is the fact that they have nuts in them- would I be asking for trouble? I mean, I wouldn't be concerned about adults really. It's very obvious they have nuts when you open them, but what if there's a kid? We're having 100 people and I could buy 48 for about $15, and I know most of the people coming very well and none of those people are allergic to nuts. But what do you girls think?
Re: Ferrero Rocher chocolates- bad idea as favor?
I think it's a great idea but I also feel that if you didn't give favours it's fine also. Most people do not care about getting favours at weddings. I don't eat junk food so I won't eat a chocolate favour anyway and what am I going to with some thing with the bride & groom's names on them?
I'd rather see the bride & groom use their money elsewhere.
