Generators

So has anyone had to use a generator for their wedding?  

My concerns are primarily the noise and getting one that has enough power to run a substatial amount of string lights and a few amplifiers.

Anyone have any experience with them?

We had one at our wedding.  I didn't notice it, but it was behind a building.

I have a DJ friend who uses one for doing outside gigs.  It's pretty quiet.  I think it's a Honda?

What you want to rent is a whisper generator.  They aren't as loud as a regular generator.

honda has a really quiet generator.  We use one all the time at the horse trailer for fans etc.  don't notice it.
