ideas to replace sparklers?

my fiance and i are leaving our reception in an antique car and would love for our guests to see us off. my fiance's brother just got married and used sparklers for his exit. loved this idea but was hoping to use something different. any ideas?

We were thinking about sparklers too, but just don't want to risk the sparks!  My fiance loves the idea of having a bunch of small white paper airplanes made for people to throw at us!

Balloons and rice aren't to eco-friendly, so I'd avoid those. Bubbles for all the guests to blow are fun, or flower petals in your wedding colors if your venue allows it.

I saw someone on here (maybe on the DIY board) they had these ribbons tied to a wooden stick so everyone waved them as the couple left.  I think they would create a really fun effect

I hope to use little bells for guests to ring as we pass, it sounds cute! My venue won't allow sparklers, flowers or birdseed.
