Fake Flowers

I've been having issues deciding what to do with my centerpieces for my reception... I'm actually considering using some fake flowers. I'm strapped for cash, so there's a lot of DIY kind of stuff. The centerpieces I want actually involve flowers (dahlias) being out of water, so it's not like I can get them ready very far ahead of time. I just can't help but think that it's a little... well... trashy. What do you think? I appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

Re: Fake Flowers

  • I've been to a few weddings that used high quality silk flowers and they looked great.
  • Our centerpieces had silk flowers and they looked really nice.  The guests loved them so much that they were all taken at the end of the reception.  We got the flowers at Michaels.  If you were to go that route and get the flowers over time (using coupons as you buy them), it might be more budget friendly.  Just don't go with cheap looking flowers.

  • I'm using all silk flowers for my wedding. I bought them all from Michaels! Often times they have great sales. You should look into it!
  • Thanks for all the replies! I've also talked to a few friends and family and they think it's a great idea. It makes set up easy - you can get things ready ahead of time and not worry about wilting or anything. I think I'm going with fake flowers for center pieces and real for my bouquet. Thanks again for all the replies! You were all very helpful. Cool
