Snack/Candy Buffet Timing

We are planning on doing a snack/candy buffet instead of formal favors on the tables.  It would include pretzels, chex mix, gold fish crackers, along with other treats.  We would like to have it available for the guests once the dancing starts.  However, it would be fun to display all of the pretty glass jars with all the treats inside.  I am just worried about the food getting stale from it sitting out.  We could always cover it with selophane, but I think that would look tacky.  Any ideas?  Please help!!!  Thank you!

Do you really think twizzlers and goldfish will get stale from sitting out for a few hours?  They won't.  you'd have to leave them out for a week before they'd get stale.  You'll be fine.
