Bringing in sparkling grape juice?

Okay, so my venue only offers different kinds of wine for the toast (which is perfectly find and quite kind, I think, as they are all included in the package and aren't costing us anything extra).  However, my fiance's family does not drink, and we do have several children attending, so we wanted to provide sparkling grape juice for the toasts.

I do know I have to ask my venue about this, and I will be asking what they think would be a good number of bottles for us to bring, but I was wondering what you girls thought.  For 100 guests (including bride/groom and WP but not including vendors), how many bottles of sparkling grape juice would you purchase?  Think the bottles of Welch's sparkling that you would find in the grocery store.

TIA!

  • I think its a really good idea to bring it in, especially if most of your guests don't drink. Heck, I do drink and I prefer sparkling juice to champagne.

Sometimes you can find it on sale at World Market. I'm thinking a good 3-4 glasses per bottle.

I think I'd go with one glass for every guest (usually 5-6 glasses per bottle, more if it's a smaller serving just for a toast), but I tend to over estimate.  So maybe one bottle per table, if you are doing the sparkling juice just for toasts, depending on how many guests at each table.

  • 8 times out of 10 people either don't drink the champagne or take a small sip in honor of the toast. We are acutally thinking of doing sparkling juice as well.
