Puzzle Theme? I Need Ideas. Please Help!

So my Fiance' is really into jigsaw puzzles so I want to incorporate that into the wedding some how..

I already thought about buying inexpensive puzzles and painting the individual pieces the colors of the wedding (Chocolate Brown and blue/teal) and maybe using them on the ends of wires in flower center pieces and maybe as like confetti on the tables.. besides that I'm pretty lost.

The wedding isn't until March 2013 so I still have time but I'm starting early cause I have a feeling this theme might be harder than it seems.

If anyone has any ideas that would be greatly appreciated..
Thanks  Laughing

Love Is Finding Your Missing Puzzle Piece... I Know I Found Mine...

Re: Puzzle Theme? I Need Ideas. Please Help!

  • If you find anything let me know I am getting married November 2013 and my fiance and I want to do a jigsaw puzzle theme also
  • I'm not a fan of overly doing a theme (and in my opinion, the vast majority of weddings on the internet seriously overdo the theme). I would just pick a couple things...

I've seen a jigsaw puzzle guest book that I thought was really cute. You get a blank puzzle, and paint one side black (or just anything that the guests will know to only write on the correct side), and then let guests each sign a piece, and put it in a container (a pretty glass vase, for example). Later, you and your husband can assemble the puzzle pieces as your "guest book", and either keep it as some kind of anniversary tradition to put the puzzle together, or permanently hang the finished puzzle on a wall.

I think puzzle pieces in your wedding colors as confetti on the table is a really cute idea. I wouldn't  actually hang any from the centerpiece itself, though.

You could probably do puzzle pieces for your escort cards. The table numbers could also be on puzzle pieces.

You could incorporate puzzle pieces into all of your stationary (the programs, menus, invitations and save the dates, etc.). I'm picturing just some colorful drawings of puzzle pieces around the edges, or in a corner or something.

To do everything would be a little overwhelming, and I think you'd lose the effect you're going for. It's like the way a bright color is a great accent color, but if you did the ENTIRE room in that color, it wouldn't be too great anymore! However, if you're into more than just jigsaw puzzles (like maybe word searches, and other types of puzzles), then you could do a variety of puzzle incorporations without overdoing it so much on one type.
