Printed Menu?

Is a printed menu at each table necessary/helpful? I'm thinking about not doing it to save some money/paper, but if it's something that most weddings should have, I'd do one at each table. TIA!

I've never actually been to a wedding that has a printed menu.  I think it is something you could eliminate to save money, as monst guests won't really notice/care if you don't have it.

Are you having a buffet? That's the only way I think a menu would be helpful. I am having a buffet and I think I am going to print one menu and put it in a frame. Just so people know what the options are. I will have one for food, one for the cupcake list and one for the bar list.

No, I'm having a plated dinner. I'm definitely not doing a menu, you ladies convinced me it's not necessary. Thanks!!

I'm only doing one because my napkins are dark brown & my favors are cholocate suckers which will be put on top of the napkin. To make sure the favors show off nicely I'm doing ivory menu cards on each plate so it will brown, ivory, brown. Else I wouldn't have done it.

The only reason to have a menu is if you are doing a plated entree that the guests will choose from a menu when they are seated.

If you aren't doing this then menus are pointless.

if you have your guests choose their meal months before on the rsvp card then no-they're not necessary. most of the weddings i attend are table-side waiter order and there is a choice-in that case they're an excellent idea.

as for the cost: go and buy 2 pieces of nice card stock for each table, write it up on your computer iwth a nice border and font and print them out. lets say you have 15 tables. 30 pieces of card stock at $.25 a piece---cheap-only $7.50.

I included them for every table, but made them myself (It was cheap to just make them). It was more as part of a table decoration piece for me, another way to incorporate my colors and theme.
