Band & DJ?!?!

I've always like the idea of having a band AND I've always liked the idea of having a DJ. IWhat do you ladies think of me going for the best of both worlds? I'm thinking band for the cocktail hour and dinner (2 hrs.) and DJ for the last two hours of the reception? Would that be too much transistion or stress to try to organize? Or do you think it will be a fabulous way to have the best of both worlds?

I'm imagining the band doing some jazz and ol' school r&b tunes (think earth, wind, and fire), for the cocktail and dinner and getting the DJ do some more modern tunes for the last two hours.

I work at a home town bar and I got a great price for our dj........ I'm like you though i wanted both.  So I have both.  The dj will introduce the bridal party, play the dinner music, all the traditional stuff, then the band will play, and during breaks the dj will play music.  To save space though the dj is hooking into the bands equiptment.  So it will all work out.
