Alternative to chair covers

My venue has white garden chairs and I don't want to rent chair covers, so what is an easy alternative that is budget friendly?  I have seen people use tool and wrap that around and tie a bow but is there anything else to decorate the chairs, or is this a pointless expense?

I wouldn't say pointless... but probably unnecessary.   If you are trying to just add some decoration... maybe just tie a pew bow in your wedding color to the back?

I just don't get why anyone goes to the trouble to decorate chairs, whether with tulle or anything else. They're chairs! People are going to sit on them and not remember them unless they were ridiculously uncomfortable. In fact, I'd be willing to guess that a lot of people dislike sitting on chair covers because they slide around and get caught under the chair legs and are generally a nuisance.
