Is it okay to only have 2 wedding colors?

Hi,

I am getting married in the winter in a snowy location inside a large log cabin/lodge type place. My bridesmaids are wearing a deep red and we are using ivory linens and white tulips. The men are wearing black tuxes.

I don't really have any other colors that I'd like to add to this scheme. I feel like white/ivory and red are going to be beautiful. I don't want to use green because I'd rather it not look like a Christmas theme.

What do you think? I feel like there is so much pressure in the blogs and articles to have 3-5 colors and I just don't know how or where to incorporate more colors in my wedding, or if I even want to.

Thanks for any input!

I really didn't even have color--my wedding was black, ivory and champagne.  It is your wedding--use whatever colors you want.

    Yes, that's fine. I don't have "colors"

Perfectly fine.  I only had two main colors and they were purple and green.

I think most people only have 2 also. Some don't have any.

Thanks everyone! I guess I really only have one, red. Since ivory/white don't seem to count.

I appreciate all the feedback; this is great!

Read this post and you may change your mind re only using 2 colors.  When I ready your post I also kept thinking of warm browns and pops of gold to add to your color list.

I am having a fall wedding and my wedding party is wearing red, and I have a lot of red and ivory elements in the decor, but I'm also doing some yellow and orange.  I think with red and white/ivory things start looking like peppermint or candy canes.  You could add metallics (gold or silver) or some neutrals (tan, champagne).

<div>Great link. Thank you. Yes, I agree with gold/brown tones to add to my list. The wood of the venue is very warm and we are using wooden Chiavari chairs so those add to my color palette, which I wasn't counting before. Thanks!</div>

<div>Totally! Thanks! The wood of the venue is quite warm, so that will add to the palette, and I'm considering some metallic splashes if they work. I'm also not using much red so don't think I'll have the candy cane problem. </div>

Hi all Im new to the board...but wanted to add my 2 cents.. lol!
My colors are Deep Purple, Lavendar and Silver (or gray depending on how you look at it) but i was inspired with those colors by looking at Khloe and Lamar's wedding...I thought it looked beautiful and that was it for me...but as someone said before maybe add an accent color (gold, silver) or try a chocolate with that red and ivory...
