Eco-friendly, non-tacky, non-glass drinkware

We are having our reception on an outdoor deck, and our venue does not permit glass.  I'm thinking plastic drinkware is not only tacky, but more than anything, I hate the idea of creating unneeded trash.  Has anyone seen decent-looking reusable options for non-glass drinkware, that isn't too expensive?  We're having about 60 guests.  

As an alternative, I've seen biodegradable corn-based cups at events that look like regular throw-away plastic cups.  This might be another decent option, but I don't know if they make anything other than regular beer glasses.  What the heck should I do for my champagne toast?

Unfortunately I don't have an alternative suggestion, but please don't use the corn-based glasses. They are extremely flimsy and break if you look at them funny. If you hold them too firmly they crack. It's a product I WANT to work, it just doens't.

I just can't seem to find affordable acyrilic options anywhere.  All that I've seen are at least $4/pp, and that just seems stupid.  

I disagree on the corn cups.  Our town hosts zero-waste events all the time and I've drank out of them countless times, and never had one break on me.  If I decide to use them, I will be sure to ask the event organizers about their specific source of corn cups.  Maybe not all are created equal?!

You can have paper cups made out of recycled paper.  There are heavier papers that are higher quality than your average paper cups.  They even come in customizable colors and patterns

Hah!  I'm having fun with this.

You could always go ultimate recyclable and cheap, and do cups made of ice!  Just buy some moulds, set them up in the freezer, and put a recycled coffee paper band around each for holding it.

we had the same problem. We bought heavier duty plasticware from smartyhadaparty.com and it was all recyclable. Not a ecofriendly as glass or biodegradable, but it was better than some of the other options we found.

the ones we used actually ended up accidentally going through the dishwasher a few times instead of being thrown in the recyclables, and they still were very sturdy after that.
