We're not having a wedding cake. Neither of us like cake, and neither of us have ever had wedding cake that was even remotely tasty. We're probably going to do cupcakes as favors, but we still want to serve a non-cake dessert at the reception.
I'm meeting with caterers tomorrow, so I plan on asking them what kinds of desserts they offer. My sister did peach cobbler at her wedding (in addition to cake), so I probably can't do that. Maybe some kind of pie or fruit tarts? Brownie sundaes? I know that I probably won't be eating much of whatever dessert we have, but I'm lactose intollerant, so I would prefer something that doesn't have a lot of dairy (I can't eat cheesecake or ice cream, even though I love them so much...), and I'd like to have something that I can eat at least a few bites of....
Has anyone been to a wedding that had a dessert other than cake?
