We want to start our ceremony at 4:30 (end by 4:50). We're planning on going straight to pictures after we say our I Do's. No recieving lines...I heard they're awkward and long & I planned on giving a small Thank You speach @ the reception & try to make it to tables.
We're paying the reception bartender from 6-10pm. Guests are welcome to flow into the reception site earlier than 6:00, but they won't be served alcohol until 6, which is what time we'll be introduced into the reception. It would be an additional $100 to have the reception hall serve alcohol for less than an hour..I would like to get around this.
So my concern is, the reception takes only 4 minutes to get to from the ceremony- so I estimate our guests to arrive at least 30 minutes before alocohol can be served (with no recieving line @ the ceremony). We will have appetizers out for everyone, but 30-45 minutes without alcohol seems tacky/annoying, right?? Should we do a recieving line to prevent the gap? We have an amazing photographer and I really want to get some awesome pro pics in before the reception.. so I'd hate to waste a ton of picture time on a recieving line... Unless you think we could pull it off....??
Around 100 guests will be at the ceremony...
